Equipment List: for Maritime Studies Skills Area.  


Seamanship

-

Access to Yacht, Beneteau 40-50 foot range

-

Ropes, braided and three strand nylon approx 10’ per student

-

Anchors, a variety with chain, shackles and wire

-

Bosuns equipment, including a selection of fids, needles, waxed thread and tape. One package per 3-4 students

-

Mounted Cleat and Winch for rope handling

-

Five copies of the IRPCS (rules of the road)

-

Safety Equipment, including life jackets, lifelines, foul weather gear, flare kit (day and night). Man- Overboard equipment . Life raft if possible.


Navigation

Navigation Handbook (RYA suggested)

Area Chart and chart tools (parallel rulers, dividers, pencils and erasers.) *

Nautical Almanac (Reeds), Chart Symbols and abbreviation book.*

Examples of Notices to Mariners.

Marine Electronics
